Rebecca Akoel crowned Miss Teso

SORORI - Rebecca Akoel, aged 21, has beaten all to the Miss Teso 2016/17 beauty crown.

Having exuded a lot of confidence and impressed at the question-and-answer session, Akoel was destined for victory.

The ceremony took place at Trends Discotheque in Soroti town on Saturday.

She beat five other contenders including Sarah Atukuri who became second runner-up and Patricia Edith Acham, the first runner-up.

Others were Jacky Akello (Serere), Gracious Ayenyo (Kaberamaido) and Peace Acen (Soroti).

Akoel says she's going to ensure that the school dropouts in Teso attain valuable skills that can help better their lives.
