Saturday was a day to remember for everybody who went for the second Bakiga Nation event dubbed ‘Rukundo Egumeho 2' as it brought together the Bakiga and their friends.

The event was organised by Bakiga Nation, a simple organised group which aims at promoting togetherness, solidarity and also teaches each other about the Bakiga culture and heritage.

It took place at the Hilltop gardens in Naguru.

The free entry event saw so many Bakiga catch up with their old friends as new friends were made.

It was pure bliss as everywhere was laughter which brought a sense of belonging and love for one's culture.

By midday the place was full as people enjoyed all sorts of eats and drinks ranging from rabbit meat to ‘enturire', a local brew which was devoured too fast forcing the organisers to order for several more litres of the beloved Bakiga signature drink.

The event was climaxed by amazing performances from the Kabwondera cultural group, Shine Omukiga, Haka Mukiga and T-Bro, all who hail from the Kigezi region.

Stories and tales were told all evening and somebody who was present and was not a Mukiga had only admiration for the togetherness in the place. If all cultures did such gatherings, Uganda would definitely be a better place.
