Graduates told to create own jobs

ICT minister, Frank Tumwebaze, urged the 496 graduands to be innovative and creative in the technology advancement.

 The chairperson of the governing council of Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology (UICT), Dorothy Okello, has advised graduates to create their own jobs.

Okello was speaking at the 10th graduation ceremony at the institute, Nakawa.

"You must have a goal and be determined. If the front door is closed go around the back door. Keep trying the challenges will be there," Okello said.

 

She implored the graduands to be the ambassadors of the institute wherever they go.

The acting Principal of the institute, Irene Nakayimba, informed the gathering that the institute is in a process turning it to be the centre of excellence in East Africa.
