The USAID-funded USAID/Uganda Private Health Support Program (PHS) is USAID's fl agship private sector health program in Uganda, and contributes to establishing a more viable and cost-eff ecti ve private sector opti on for health services in Uganda. PHS has three objectives:

1) Expanded availability of health services by private service providers;
2) Increased aff ordability of private health services and products; and
3) Improved quality of private health sector faciliti es and services

In September 2016, PHS scope of work was expanded to

1) conti nue supporti ng Private Health Providers to deliver essenti al HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment services, and
2) Strengthen health systems within the faith-based health sector to build a strong foundati on for sustained scale up of services for people living with and aff ected by HIV/AIDS.
