The chief magistrate's court in Arua on Thursday morning charged and remanded the proprietor of a juice processing factory in Arua, Emmanuel Ajedra, to Arua Government Prison over a sh22m debt.

The chief magistrate William Robinson Kumakech remanded Ajedra to prison for a period not exceeding six months when he will re-appear for mention of his case.

Ajedra has been battling a court case with his former employee Nelson Inzima Yiti for two years over work the latter did at his factory.

The sh5b processing plant located in Dadamu Sub County was officially commissioned by President Yoweri Museveni in 2014.

Inzima's lawyer Denis Kumakech of Legal Aid Project told Arua One that court made a ruling in Ajedra's absentia after he failed to appear in court to file his defence.
