Uganda to host international beach volleyball championship

Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) will host the International Beach Volleyball Championships.

UVF's Godwin Ssenyondo said that they will host the 11th Uganda International Beach Volleyball Championship on November 26-27 at Lido Beach Resort Entebbe.

Uganda Beach Volleyball Commission -an arm of Uganda Volleyball Federation has not held any of their quarterly events this year for lack of finances and playing facilities.

But Ssenyondo insists that the international event will go on with teams expected from Rwanda and Kenya although there is no sponsor for the championship at the moment.

"Having not had any local engagements this year, we are making contingent arrangements to host the international championship as well as get our representing teams prepared," Ssenyondo said.

He said that their technical team would soon announce players who will represent Uganda for the championship.

Currently, UVF has issues with their top men and women's leagues following disagreements over they way they are run.
