Tributes pour in for Gen. Oketta

The clan leader of Pa Polo ot pa Rwaga who is also the elder brother of Maj. Gen. Julius Oketta's father has described his nephew's death as a big blow to the family.

Loum Adiryano Pa Atanacio Opi said Oketta was a very sociable and kind man who helped very many needy children whose parents could not afford to pay their school fees, get an education.

He said Oketta was a peace fighter who struggled to ensure that the region attained peace during the LRA insurgency.

William Oyoo, a nephew to Oketta said the family and country has lost a very kind man.

Brig. Kayanja Muhanga, the 4th Division commander described Oketta as a peace loving person who was very instrumental in bringing the LRA insurgency in the north to an end.
