2016 has been a big year for Sheebah Karungi. It's indisputable. From her songs dominating airwaves and featuring on various media outlets for her works, to various endorsement deals and clinching several local awards and international recognition; Karungi has certainly reaped big.
She early last month, got a MTV African Music Awards (MAMA) 'Video of the year' nod for her 2016 Kisasi Kimu hit. What other way to wrap up a big year than hold a concert? Indeed.
Sheebah is holding what is going to be her debut concert dubbed ‘Nkwatako' launch album on December 2, 2016 at Hotel Africana, Kampala. It will be followed by two events at Satellite Beach, Mukono and Freedom City, Entebbe Road on 3 and 4 respectively.
"I am excited. Sheebaholics are excited. We hope to have a lively concert. I have waited for this the whole of my (music) life. My fans should expect an epic experience, because they are going to get the best of me," Sheebah said at a press conference to launch the concert at Vision Group offices.
According to Sheebah, ‘Nkwatako,' which shares a name with her hit song, is her very first Album.
The event is co-sponsored by Vision Group's XFM alongside other corporate companies.
"Currently, you cannot talk about Uganda's pop music without mentioning the name Sheebah," radio presenter, Sima Sabiiti, said on behalf of XFM.
"And as a radio station we play a lot of Sheebah's music. We receive numerous requests for her songs. Sheebah is successful brand, so we (XFM) are quite confident that partnering with her is sort of perfect marriage."
Sheebah thanked Vision Group for being part supportive for her music, saying she is glad the media powerhouse has been part of her journey.
