The Minister for Gender, Labour and Social Development, Janat Mukwaya has given tips to Primary Seven candidates to help them triumph in their Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).
Mukwaya urged pupils to stop reading books on Monday as they wait to sit for PLE on Tuesday saying it will give them time to relax.

"On Monday you must only be recalling what you were taught listing down some of the points. You may only check in your books just in case if you have forgotten the formulas," she urged.

Mukwaya made the remarks on Friday at Mukono Town Muslim Primary School in Mukono Municipality during the dedication prayers for Primary Seven candidates. Primary Seven Candidates will be sitting for their PLE on November 2 and 3.

Mukwaya asked candidates that after entering the examination rooms and allowed to start by the examiners, they shouldn't just rush on answering the questions but put their pens down and read carefully their question papers.

"By reading through the questions, you will be able to notice the simple numbers. Start answering with the simple questions. By doing that you get time to relax and avoid crossing the already done work because you have noticed a simple number when it is already late," Mukwaya advised.

She also urged them to avoid comparing notes either before the papers or after, saying by doing that they will be disorganizing themselves.

Sheikh Saziri Lumala, the Mukono district Khadhi asked candidates to always put Allah first before reading or answering the exams.

Lumala asked the parents to put their children in prayers saying Allah blesses a parent's prayer to their children.

He also urged the candidates to endeavor entering the examination rooms after easing themselves fully. He said by doing so, they avoid embarrassments in the examination rooms resulting from the fear.

Mukono Resident District Commissioner, Maj. David Matovu asked the parents to prepare food for their pupils as they go for exams saying that will contribute to their success.

"Do not let the candidates go for exams on empty stomachs as you always do during the course of the term," Matovu said.

The school's head teacher, Haruna Batange asked for storied classrooms saying that the school being in town it is limited by space yet it has bigger enrolments because of being a Universal Primary Education School and good performance.
