A total 1785 students have graduated from Nkumba University in Entebbe Municipality, Wakiso district.
The graduands who were capped in several disciplines comprised 51% males and 49% females.
The graduation ceremony was held on Friday at the University grounds in Entebbe.
Rosemary Seninde the state minister for primary education presided over as chief guest and challenged the graduates not to be corrupt and not to wait for things to be done for them.
"If you want to succeed in life, start doing something for yourself however small it is. Try to create some business for yourself," Seninde said.
She advised parents against holding lavish parties but rather give the money to their children to start up small businesses.
"A parent will make a party of shs3m for his child who has graduated in tailoring instead of buying him or a sewing machine. Parties are good but do it when necessary," Seninde said.
Nkumba University vice chancellor Professor Wilson Muyinda Mande, asked the graduates not to lose the sight of being innovative and creative in their lives.
"A graduate who fails to be creative and innovative may soon lose his competitiveness. That is why we are urging these graduates to add a kilo of creativity and innovation to the beef they have acquired in the lectures rooms," Mande said.
