Housemaid steals one-month-old baby over unpaid arrears

Police in Arua has arrested and detained a housemaid it identified as Dratezu Sharon Candiru accused of stealing a one-month-old baby belonging to her employer's sister over unpaid salary. 

According to the suspect's own confession at Arua Police Station, she had been working as a housemaid at Nabbingo in Wakiso district but her boss allegedly refused to pay her for three months and she decided to take the baby.

Candiru was tracked to Arua where the baby was returned to its mother by Police.

She awaits transportation back to Wakiso where she committed the offence to face the law.

Josephine Angucia is the West Nile Police spokesperson said Candiru will be charged with kidnap.
