Cuban vice-President arrives in Uganda today

Salvador is expected to arrive at Entebbe International Airport on Tuesday at 4:30pm in the company of top Cuban government officials.

The Cuban Vice-President, Salvador Valdes Mesa is expected to jet into Uganda today evening.

Salvador is expected to arrive at Entebbe International Airport on Tuesday at 4:30pm in the company of top Cuban government officials.

While in Uganda, Salvador will meet top government officials including President, Yoweri Museveni Kaguta and Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga.

He is also expected to deliver a message from Cuban President, Raul Castro to President Yoweri Museveni.

Salvador, who is coming to Uganda after visiting Zimbabwe, is expected to tour three other countries from Uganda including Botswana, Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

A statement from Statehouse on Monday indicated that the Cuba second in rank's tour is aimed at revamping his country's relationship with old African allies and identifying new partners as Cuba's relations with her oldest foe, the US improves.
