Parliament to take 40-day recess

Parliament is set to go into a one month recess from 6th October to 14th November.  

The Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga revealed the development to Parliament while presiding over Tuesday evening's session and asked committees to hurry up and compile their reports on the work they have been doing. 

Kadaga said that she has postponed all sittings for this week to enable committees to work both in the morning and afternoon to be ready for next week's sittings.

"All ongoing work must be ready by the end of this week so that you present on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday just before we go on recess" Kadaga said.

"I also want to remind government that since we commenced they have not brought any business to this house" she added.
