Ogwang said one of the units blown away was a cell where suspects are detained.

When contacted, the DPC Agago Albert Onyango said the incident has caused them untold suffering as they have no place to keep suspects when they are arrested.

He said his office in liaison with district council is doing everything possible to replace the damaged units.

Onyango said a quick intervention is paramount.

The storm also blew off the roof of Omot sub county headquarters' administration block under construction. Banana, simsim and sunflower plantations were destroyed.

The Omot LC3 vice chairperson, Hellen Akello pointed out that roof of the administration block under construction was blown off due to shoddy work by the contractor.

According to John Oketch, 28, his family of six children narrowly survived as the storm blew off his roof and a brick injured his son Isaac Oketch, 8, who was rushed to Life Care clinic in Omot Sub County.

He also said that he suffered a double loss as his banana plantation was also hit by the storm.
