It took 15 games for the UCU Lady canons to feel the taste of defeat in the National Basketball League (NBL) regulars that took place over the weekend Sunday at YMCA courts in Wandegeya.

The reigning league champions have been dominating every side in the league early in the season. They were stopped by KCCA Leopards in their 16th game of the second season.

UCU's Vilma Acheing commented that KCCA's success was nothing but a lesson to learn from.

"I believe this time round KCCA was just lucky to have this win. However this is a lesson to learn on our side and we wait to face them again before we go for the play offs." Acheing said

The legendary defending champions (UCU Lady Canons) of the NBL started on a bad note in the second round of the NBL round 2 regular season.

Within the first five minutes of the game, Leopard's Martha Soigi and Moreen Amoding had made 9 points for their team concurrently while UCU was already 6 baskets behind into the games.

However by the end of the first half, the Canons had readily picked up, setting them in a position more promising with one point behind the Leopards. However by the end of the fourth quarter the leopards 7 points ahead of the Lady Canons.

Sarah Ageno, Judith Nansobya and Acheing were the main three players that made more points for the Lady Canons with 15, 11 and 12 points respectively. On the other hand, Soigi was there to save the day for  the leopards. She managed to score a total of 21 points for KCCA.

The Leopards will face the Lady Canons for yet another game next month  on October 12 before they go in for the play offs.
