Weatherhead picked the result they needed against Kampala on Saturday at the national hockey field in lugogo to keep their tittle hopes alive.

It was a sublime showing from skipper Emmanuel Wabuyaka's side as Benon Lukyamuzi struck the match's opener in merely 14 minutes of play.

But Habib Sewava took the game level with a well worked out effort in the 29 minute, eventually this would turn out to be their only goal in the game.

Weatherhead again took the lead through Moses Tushabe in the 46 minute before Ashiraf Tumwesigye sealing the game with a beauty in the 69 minute.

The win helped Weatherhead break away from the same zone they were in with Kampala. It was only a difference of just one point before the match. They are currently second on 17 points, nine behind leaders Wananchi.

Elsewhere in the Women's division, Doreen Mbabazi's double helped unbeaten leaders Wananchi secure maximum points against the weatherhead Gazelles.She struck in the 10 and 64 minute for Wananchi to go on  28 points.Vivienne Kigozi picked the only goal for the Gazelles who remained second on 19 points
