Young couples need guidance from the experienced families

Emorimor Osuban said though family life of the newly married young couples starts with happiness pleasure and joy, in most cases these young people don’t know how to face challenges ahead.

Newly married couples need a lot of guidance if their relationship is to be sustained as a family in order to strengthen cultural institutions

Papa emorimor Augustine Osuban Ilemukol the Iteso cultural union leader made this remarks at Kangolo village, Kanginima sub county in Pallisa district during the cultural introduction ceremony of  Moses Jonathan Kango of the Baise Igaga clan,Mbulamiti village in Kamuli district which Rebecca Kadaga subscribes to.

Emorimor Osuban said though family life of the newly married young couples starts with happiness pleasure and joy, in most cases these young people don't know how to face challenges ahead.

He said a number of problems keep on cropping as they are solved but there is need for experienced couples to be in constant touch with young people to initiate them on how best they can understand each other.

At the function graced by speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga, state minister for housing Chris Baryamosi and member of Pallisa.

 

osuban said experienced couples in the marriage institution should always be in the front to safeguard the amateurs."Family is a unit from which cultural norms are implemented and keeping it intact with amicable understanding of solving the problems which come their way is important to avoid shame". He said.

Osuban said he attended the cultural introduction himself because Akia is a daughter of late Peter Kedi an Itesot cultural lover and educationist.Kadaga who thanked the members of parliament for squeezing time to company her for the introduction of her nephew Kango who is IT specialist in parliament said the Teso leader should be certain about their daughter's marriage to Busoga because she will be well kept.

"I thank the Emorimor for the wise guides he has given and also accepting to attend a function amidst his tight schedules which is a sign of love for the subjects", she said.

Denis Okia the Soroti Stanbic manager who gave out Akia to Kango on behalf of their family after receiving portraits of the traditional leaders Kyabazinga of Busoga and Emorimor of Teso and institutions maps challenged girls to embrace education and avoid early marriages.

 



Okia said he purposely staged the function in the village for cultural recognition and entice rural community to emulate the value of educated girls.
"I thank parents who toiled for the education of their children that is why Akia ended up in MTN where Kango met her", Okia said.

Fred Mudukoi Oduch the member of parliament for Butebo said  the coming of the speaker, minister and members of parliament to attend the introduction clearly spells out the importance and value education to our children in the villages who undermine it ."Such functions need to be taken to rurual arears so that our children emulate and take their studies seriously", Mudukoi said.
