Flying Squad officers to undergo training course

All Flying Squad operatives have been sent on a two month training course on new techniques of handling operational situations.

The Police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi said some officers needed refresher courses and others are going to be laid off as one of the ways of re-organising the squad.

"Flying Squad had not been disbanded. They are going for training to equip them new skills and knowledge to handle modern challenging operational situations. Definitely some will have to be screened out" Kaweesi said.

Kaweesi said that the work of fighting armed robbers will now be handled by CIID and other departments of Police.
