Police have taken rally marshals through several safety and anti-terrorism drills, ahead of the Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa rally on Friday and Saturday in Luweero and Mubende districts,

The week long training was conducted by Superintendent of Police (SP) Hussein Nsobya from the Counter Terrorism Directorate, ASP Jackson Bogere and ASP Israel Wambesyo the Deputy Police Commander of traffic Kampala Metropolitan

"We have trained them on how to help accident victims, to be alert and identify any threats because terrorists always target places with big crowds," Nsobya stated citing the 2010 Kyadondo and Kabalagala incidents.

"We have equipped these marshals with lots of knowledge ranging from terrorism, lives in case of accidents and road safety use during and after the event," Nsobya added.
