The inaugural edition of the Kishor Pabari Memorial will have sh5m and a trophy for the winners and it doesn't stop at that as individual winners will each receive Sh500,000 in the tournament that gets underway on Saturday at Lugogo and Kyambogo ovals.

Kishor Pabari was a national off spinner and a businessman who founded Fido dido ice cream.

He played a huge role in developing cricket in the country; brought Indians to compete with the local cricketers hence raising the game's status, he had a giving heart, donating equipment to teams at a time when cricket was struggling to pick up.

For all he did, the cricket fraternity cannot afford to forget about him. The UCA, Tornado Bee, KICC have organized a T20 tournament to commemorate the fallen star who died in 1993 in a car accident.

"He was very instrumental in shaping up the game of cricket at the time when we were struggling with so many things. He is a hero to some of us" said Rajni Tailor, president Hindu Council of Africa during the launch of the tournament at cooper Chimney on Friday morning.

"We hear a lot about him, the things he did but unfortunately we didn't see him for a long time but we want to continue his legacy" said Raj Pabari, the son to the late.

He was present with his brother Bhavin Pabari during the launch of the tournament at cooper Chimney restaurant at lugogo on Friday.

UCA's Justine Ligyalingi hailed the late as one who was extremely generous to the cricket fraternity and helped so many young players during his time.

Six teams will participate in the former KICC and Premier Cricket club player's memorial that is running this weekend and the coming weekend at the Lugogo oval; Tornado Bee KICC,Everest,Challengers, Aziz Damani and a Rwanda xi
