KCCA extended its lead atop of the table after defeating Soana 2-0 at the Phillip Omondi Stadium in the Azam Uganda Premier League.

Joseph Ochaya gave the defending champions the lead through a penalty before Mizamiru Mutyaba doubled the lead to seal the win.

The penalty was awarded after Soana's Misi Katende handled the ball on the box and he his misery was compounded by a red card from the incident.

The Lugogo side tops the table with nine points from three games, two points ahead of second placed SC Villa.

Villa beat JMC 1-0 at Namboole with Ambrose Kirya scored against his former side to secure the Jogoos' second win this season. 

Elsewhere, URA continued its winless start to the season after playing out a 1-1 draw with Vipers at Metha Stadium in Lugazi while Express and Onduparaka also drew 1-1 at Wankulukuku.

John Ssemazi opened the scoring for the Red Eagles before Rashid Toha equalized for Onduparaka.

At Kakindu, Godfrey Wakaza scored the only goal as BUL lost 1-0 to Saints.

Lweza defeated home side Bright Stars 1-0 in Matugga.
