Teso College Aloet and Rainbow International are making maiden appearances

Pepsi Boys Cricket Week (Sept 3-9)

It's another week of excitement as this year's edition of the annual Pepsi Boys Cricket Week showpiece gets underway over the weekend at five grounds.

The contest will have Teso College Aloet and Rainbow International who will be making their first ever appearances.

For Teso College Aloet, kudos go to the constructive relationship between the school and the Soroti Academy who have assisted the players in equipping them with relevant skills and general cricket knowledge.

Meanwhile a revolving shield is on the list of awards for the winners where their names will be inscribed together with past winners though the trophy will still be the main prize.

"It's all systems go for the event and the boys are expected to be at their best as men's clubs will go hunting for talent. I also thank Pepsi and Bankstown Cricket Club for sponsoring the event" said Uganda Cricket Association CEO Justine Ligyalingi while launching the event at Lugogo.

The T20 tourney has attracted a total of twelve teams following the regional qualifiers.

They include Kololo SS, Ndejje SS, Rainbow International, Mukono Parents, Kings College Budo, Ntare School, Nyakasura School, St James SS, Teso College Aloet, Masaka SS and holders Busoga College Mwiri.

Kyambogo, Budo, Gayaza and Lugogo will host the games as Makerere College School will house the teams.

A select side will be formed to represent Uganda in Kenya for a series of games after the tournament.
