Michael Elocu has threatened to take his own party to court

Soroti district Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) stalwart Michael Elocu has threatened to take his own party to court for failing to honour a promise made to him during campaigns.

Elocu who hails from Arapai sub-county alleges that the party district mobilizer Paul Omer is currently the Soroti Municipality mayor tapped him to help mobilize support for the party's candidates in the district with the promise of opening a business for him if the party candidates won but nothing has yet been done.

He maintains that he has on several occasions tried to seek audience with the John Enom the district party chairman, Omer and other party leaders all in vain.

In his response, Omer denied promising to open a business for Elocu for soliciting support for the party as he claims.

Enom admitted that Elocu was one the party supporters who played a pivotal role in soliciting support for the party but denied knowing any agreement between him and Omer.

He appealed to Elocu to lodge his complaint with his office so that he can arrange for a meeting between him and Omer to have the matter diffused rather than engaging in a public war of words.
