The CEO of Gals Sports Betting Yaron Engel has urged other companies and the public to join them in supporting the cancer run slated to take place on August 28th.

"We call upon other authorities to join us and support the cancer patients in order to improve people's lives" Engel said.

The betting company handed a cheque worth sh5m to the Rotary Club organizing committee headed by Dennis Juuko.

Juuko thanked the company for the support and also appealed to other authorities to engage in the Cancer Run.

"We are so privileged for the support given to us and we also appeal to other companies, authorities ministries to come up and we make the Cancer Run project successful" Juuko stated.

Juuko explained that last year's Cancer Run collections were used to build a cancer ward in Nsambya Hospital and that about $4m is to be fundraised to purchase a cancer treatment machine for the ward.

The run that is expected to attract more than 2 million participants will have the 21km, 10km and 5km runs countrywide.
