Uganda's Hassan Alwi and Musa Nsubuga in a Subaru N14 finished third in the Rwanda Mountain Gorilla Rally on Sunday in Kigali.

Alwi was part of the 12 Ugandan drivers that went to Rwanda for the event that doubles as the fifth round of the Africa Rally Championship (ARC).

The finish earned Alwi 84 points that pushed him to second position in the National Rally Championship (NRC) with 254 points, 46 behind Jas Mangat.

Other Ugandan drivers Kepher Walubi, Ismail Ortega, Abdul Sempebwa and Woi Ismail Lule finished 9th, 10th, 11th and 13th respectively out of the 24 crews that competed in the three day event.

Other Ugandan drivers Geofrey Nsamba, Musa Kabega, Wilbert Pole Pole were among those that didn't complete the event.
