Students knocked dead on way back home

The two students had been sent back home for school fees.

Two students who had been sent back home for school fees were knocked dead by a truck in Nakaseke district on Tuesday.

The incident occurred in Mifunya village as the two secondary school lads were riding back home.

The sand-laden truck swerved off the road on a hilly section of a feeder road and crashed the boys.

Vincent Anguyo and Wilson Kyobe were students at Blessed Hope Secondary School near Nakaseke town.

The Savannah regional police commander, Julius Tusingwire said they had arrested Ssebuufu Semuju, the turn-boy who is said to have been behind the wheel at the time.

The school's headteacher Samuel Tuhwirwe said they were shocked to learn of the news of the boys' death.
