We are very grateful that your relationship with Uganda has borne fruits.

The Ugandan government has hailed their bilateral relationship with the Egyptian government, which has seen them train Ugandans in different fields, for short and long term courses.

State minister for foreign affairs Henry Oryem Okello noted this at a cocktail to mark the 64th anniversary for the country's 1952 revolution at the Egyptian ambassador's residence in Kololo on Friday evening.

The function also saw the public and government officials bid farewell to the Egyptian ambassador Ahmed Abdalaziz Mostafa, who will be going back to Egypt at the end of this month for another deployment.

"We are very grateful that your relationship with Uganda has borne fruits. We have been able to have Ugandans travel to Egypt and get training in different short term courses in agriculture, security, IT among others. The good news is that all of them have come back to make an impact in the country. We are very grateful to this and we are looking forward to continue with this and other relationships for the mutual benefit of the two countries," said Okello.

The function was attended by a number of ministers, state ministers, other ambassadors and heads of mission.

"We know that this is your last official function as ambassador but we would like to tell you that we are deeply indebted to your good works and you are always welcome back to Uganda,' added Okello.

The ambassador noted the friendship and the support he had got from the Ugandan government and the people.
"I will always walk with a memory of Uganda," said Ahmed Abdalaziz Mostafa.
