The officer was struck dead by lightning yesterday at 01:00am during a heavy down pour as he made a phone call.

Lightning has struck dead Orach Morris, a police officer attached to Police Training School Kabalye, in Masindi district.

The officer was struck dead by lightning yesterday at 01:00am during a heavy down pour as he made a phone call.

Deputy Police Press and Public Relations officer, Polly Namaye confirmed the incident. Namaye described the deceased as an officer who shall be remembered for the courage, zeal and commitment with which he performed his duties

“We shall remember him for his courage especially when he was appointed to command his colleagues while on internship in Kira region from December 2015 to February 2016,” Namaye Stated in a statement.

She said the officer will be laid to rest in Gulu district.

The deceased joined the Uganda Police Force on 1st June 2015 with a degree in logistics and procurement from Kyanmbogo University.

He was born on 5th November 1986 in Pader District to Mr Onono George and Lamenyi Rose
