He said that FUFA has decided to use the money on equipment, payment of referees and a contribution to the participating clubs in form of salary of the junior team coach.

FUFA president Moses Magogo has announced that the global football government body FIFA has given Uganda $40,000 (sh135m) for the U-17 junior league.

"We wrote to FIFA requesting for their support for our junior league (U-17). They thought this was a good innovation worth supporting. I'm happy they have responded to us with the support," Magogo said.

He said that FUFA has decided to use the money on equipment, payment of referees and a contribution to the participating clubs in form of salary of the junior team coach.

However, FUFA insists that for a club to benefit from the support, it must have a trained and qualified coach to handle their U-17 team.
