Aberdeen on Monday said that the Uganda Cranes midfielder is in Scotland for trials with a decent chance of join them.

Ugandan turned Rwandan Meddie Kagere has replaced Uganda Cranes midfielder Khalid Aucho at Kenya Premier League club Gor Mahia as the latter is in talks to move to Scottish champions Aberdeen.

Aberdeen on Monday said that the Uganda Cranes midfielder is in Scotland for trials with a decent chance of join them.

The player has been a subject of a prolonged transfer saga, as his Kenyan side Gor Mahia insisted he was not leaving the club while his agent claimed he was moving to Scottish club Rangers, before changing his mind.

The dailyrecord.co.uk said Monday that, "Khalid Aucho arrives in Scotland for trial with Aberdeen"

Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier said Aucho was not returning to the club.

"That is why we have signed Kagere because we are safe as far as the foreign quota rule in Kenya is concerned. Khalid Aucho is leaving the club and he will not be with us in the second leg," Rachier said.

"It (a move to Rangers, then) would be good for my career because that's a different team and league, but at the moment. If it happens, then its fine," Aucho said then as he received his accolade.

Aucho guided K'Ogalo to four victories in the team's in the month of May where he scored a goal and made three assists.
