Uganda national women football team returned home from Kenya Monday.

The Crested Cranes were thrashed 4-0 by Kenya in an international friendly in the Kisumu on Sunday.

Despite the defeat, it was a learning experience for the players and technical team ahead of the CECAFA Women championship in September. The women football tournament will be held in Kampala.

Uganda was playing its first international match at senior level since 2012 when they played Democratic Republic of Congo.

However, three years ago, the U-20 team scored 22 goals against South Sudan in the 2014 preliminary round of the World Cup qualifiers.

Some of the players that travelled to Kenya were part of that U-20 team.
