Uganda has been drawn together with Ghana, Egypt and Congo Brazzaville in Group E of the third - and final - round of the World Cup qualifiers.
This round follows two previous knockout rounds and will kick off in October.
Ghana and Egypt will be seen as the favorites of the group. Ghana's Black Stars have appeared at the last three finals but Egypt, who are among the best teams in Africa, have not made it since 1990.
Uganda is the only side from the Cecafa region to have made it to this stage of the competition.
There are five groups of four teams with only the winners of each group making it to Russia in 2018.
