Contraceptives availability and choice in public health facilities in Uganda

This paper highlights results from a social accountability project that tackled stock-outs of family planning commodities in Kamuli and Mbarara districts, and raised community awareness on the importance of choice in access to contraceptive in public health facilities. It presents a summary of the project results and lessons as well as specific recommendations for policy makers, health care providers, family planning users and civil society organization (CSOs) on effective measures to increase contraceptive availability and choice in Uganda's public health facilities.
