KAMPALA - As the on-going protracted battle over positions continues to eat away Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) political roots in Parliament, Maj. Gen. Mugisha Muntu, the FDC party president, has responded to acidic accusations attributed to Aruu County MP, Odonga Otto.

Muntu argues that leaving out seasoned party lawmakers such as Odonga Otto from the composition of the Opposition shadow cabinet was not laced in political vengeance as claimed by the bitter lawmakers but rather informed by the need to build the party.

"If I was vindictive or vengeful I would have used my position to field candidates against all MP candidates who had not supported me during our presidential and flag bearer primaries like was done against most MP candidates who supported me," Muntu posted on his official Facebook page.

"I campaigned for all party candidates regardless of whether they had ever supported me or not. If I was vengeful or vindictive I would not have comfortably and successfully worked with a NEC that is composed 8o% of colleagues who did not support me in the primaries for now 1 year."

But in a statement titled ‘MUNTU CABINET - FULL OF VEGENCE AND REVENGE', Odonga Otto argues that the 30-man team named by FDC president that excludes Nathan Nandala-Mafabi (Budadiri West), Elijah Okupa (Kasilo County) and himself (Otto) is nothing but direct vengeance on the key (Dr. Kizza) Besigye loyalists."

"I now believe Maj. Gen. Mugisha Muntu was sent to destroy FDC and has partially started to succeed," said Otto.

"Now it is an offence both to Muntu and Museveni to be close to Besigye."

However, Muntu argues that Otto is a man of many contradictions.
