1. Script Editor

Communication for Development Foundation Uganda (CDFU) is looking for a radio drama script editor to take lead in the development of the 11 year old radio serial drama, Rock Point 256. 

Academic & other qualities:

The applicant should have a Bachelor's degree in communication, literature, performing arts or related academic field. He/she should have a passion for drama and be skilled in writing and editing drama for the ears (radio dramas). He/she should be able to utilize the theories of change in behavior change communication to develop a drama that integrates messaging and sustains a logical flow. (Proof of written and/or edited drama scripts will be required). The applicant should also have basic skills in utilizing social media (content development and management); community mobilization and interaction (Community dialogues, sensitization and reporting).

She/he will specifically:

i). Lead the team of writers in the development of Rock Point 256 storylines and character profiles.

ii). With the creative team, built step outlines for logical and natural flow of the story.

iii). Work closely with production houses for appropriate casting.

iv). Supervise the creative team of Rock Point 256 for satisfactory, well written and timely delivery of scripts and edit the drama.

v). Make regular support supervision visits to listening and action platforms (LAPs) and document change/success stories.

2. Social media officer

CDFU is looking for a young, creative, well organized and self-motivated individual to work as Social Media officer.

Academic & other qualities:

Should have a Bachelor's degree. A track record of creating inspiring and engaging content that really works. Display in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (You Tube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WhatsApp, Pinterest etc.) and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios. Enjoy a working knowledge of the blogging eco-system relevant to development communication. Display ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and video format. Practice superior time management and willingness to work outside normal working hours. A team player with the confidence to take the lead and guide other employees when necessary (ie: content development, creation and editing; and online reputation management). Ability to display good technical understanding and pick up new tools quickly.

Specifically he/she will:

i). Create where necessary and manage the Rock Point 256 social media accounts.

ii). Take the lead in engaging and interacting with audiences by developing content for social media channels and engaging in dialogue and answering questions where necessary.

iii). Make weekly follow up with the toll-free Hotline and the Listening and Action Platforms (LAPs) through channels like telephone calls or SMS and compile change stories.

iv). Create, curate and manage the content (images, video, written) for Rock Point 256 and work with the Webmaster to upload content onto the CDFU website.

v). Build a data base on the SMS platform and send informative messages to listeners' phones.
