The belated final of the Dr. Aporu International tournament finally came to an end with Sky Volleyball club emerging champions.

Sky under coach Lawrence Yakani defeated the star studded Nemostars 3-2 in a tightly contested final at Makerere University Business School (MUBS) in Nakawa on Sunday.

The mouth-watering game saw Sky lead 2-0 but Nemostars fought back to level 2-2 before going for the decisive set that ended 15-12 in favour of Sky.

Sky coach Lawrence Yakani attributed his club's victory to concentration and tactical change of the game at a crucial point.

"We saw George (Aporu) was their key player, so we had to serve him balls and work him out which worked for us," Yakani stated.

Kathbart Malinga emerged the tournament MVP and he targets playing professional volleyball in the future.
