Huawei gives smartphones to pupils of Uganda School for Deaf-Ntinda

This was during MTN’s 10th edition of the 21 days of Y’ello Care; a staff volunteerism project that aims at continuing to improve acccess to education, particularly through the digitisation of teaching and learning in the countries where the telecoms company operates.
Huawei Consumer Business Group Uganda donated 24 smartphones to pupils of the Uganda School for the Deaf- Ntinda, to help them in their education.
This was during MTN's 10th edition of the 21 days of Y'ello Care; a staff volunteerism project that aims at continuing to improve acccess to education, particularly through the digitisation of teaching and learning in the countries where the telecoms company operates. This year, the project's theme is "Investing in Education for All".
He also thanked MTN Uganda for partnering with Huawei Uganda to help change the lives of Ugandan children.
Speaking during the event, Jackson Mbwosi, the headteacher of Uganda School for the Deaf in Ntinda, thanked MTN and its partners for lending a helping hand to pupils in the school. "The pupils will use the phones we have received from Huawei mainly over the weekends and during their free time to send text messages to their parents and to do academic research," he said.
