Saxophonist Caesar Kajura took his campaign to raise funds for children with special needs to the National Theatre on Wednesday, and with the Baxmba Waves, brought the house down. Kajura, himself an autistic child, is helping his old school, Hill Preparatory School in Naguru, purchase musical instruments for a music program he started.

Kajura and Baxmba took turns on centre stage, with the saxophonist playing songs from his second album City Life, including Susanahand Kampala. The band played songs largely composed by band leader Godfrey Lubulwa, including the very impressive Sekitulege. Kajura would later on launch his new song, Blessings, a special tribute to children and music

There were also performances by the Brass for Africa, a very entertaining and very talented group of young boys and girls. Classical guitarist Rita Sabiiti took a turn, and was later joined by her younger brother Jason Ntaro, who recited a poem backed by Rita on her guitar.
But the climax of the night was when children from Hill Preparatory joined Kajura when he performed Blessings. They may be children with special needs, but they appreciate and understand music, just like Kajura himself did when he was still young. They danced with him, and obviously enjoyed themselves thoroughly. Like it is said, ‘when words fail, music speaks!'
