Alam, Ngabo win Netherlands business golf tournament

Alam and Ngabo returned 42 and 40 stable ford points respectively to claim the free air tickets

Faiz Alam and Anne Ngabo will fly to the Netherlands with KLM in business class after coming out on top at the Netherlands Business Golf Cup tournament at Kitante on Saturday.

Alam and Ngabo returned 42 and 40 stable ford points respectively to claim the free air tickets that were the biggest prizes, in the one-day tournament organized by the Netherlands Embassy to stimulate the good relationship between Uganda and Netherlands; and also to strengthen trade and business ties between the two countries.

Netherlands ambassador to Uganda Alphons Hennekens and KLM Managing Director Dick Van Nieuwenhngzen presented the overall prizes to the two winners.

Becca Mwanja and Hassan Kiyemba (39pts) were the top performers in Group A with the latter being beaten on count-back while Karubio Karanja was second runner up. They each won themselves a Phillips Juice Maker.

Ian Parker, Horrace Basaija and J.D Jang were the top performers in the men Groups B-D while Rose Azuba, Aidha Khamis and Bridget Nakamoga were the top performers in the ladies category winning themselves Phillips Air Fryers and Shell Fuel Vouchers worth sh500,000 each.

The tournament also sponsored by dfcu bank and Shell V-Power is set to become an annual tournament following assurance from the sponsors.
