Police rescue 5 ,recover 3 bodies in Lake Victoria

Police on Thursday morning rescued 5 people and recovered 3 bodies after a boat that was carrying 10 people capsized at Buzindere in Lake Victoria.

Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirmed the incident saying the Police Marines unit was conducting a search for the 2 remaining bodies that had not yet been seen by press time.

Those rescued include Ssemaganda, Abbasi Walugembe, John Kabul, Simon Ssewakabwe Peter, Florence Nantaba.

The dead were identified as  Annet Nakachwa, Oliver Nasuna, 5 month baby Nabuma ,Frank Musiraamu and Irene Akomugisha. Police say the boat was overloaded with merchandise.
