According to the figures presented to Parliament by the finance minister designate Matia Kasaija on Wednesday, the works ministry was allocated sh3.7trillion.

The ministry work and transport has taken the biggest percentage of the budget allocation for 2016/17 financial year.

According to the figures presented to Parliament by the finance minister designate Matia Kasaija on Wednesday, the works ministry was allocated sh3.7trillion.  It's followed by the education sector with sh2.7trillion and the energy sector with sh2.4trillion.

Although still below the sh1000b the President promised during campaigns to allocate to NAADS, agriculture registered an increment from sh484.6b allocated in the current fiscal year to sh824.2b in the forthcoming financial year.

The sh824.2b for agriculture is just 3% of the sh26trillion, which is far below the 10% agreed upon in 2003 Maputo by African governments and the 7% agreed upon in the NRM caucus of 2012.
