He thanked President Museveni for the little the region got

The Paramount Chief of Iteso, Emorimor Papa Augustine Lemukol Osuban has that Iteso expected more ministers but thanked President Yoweri Museveni for the little the region got.

"We as Iteso are happy for the President to give us at least one full cabinet minister but we needed more," Osuban said.

On Monday evening, list of appointees to cabinet was unveiled for both full ministers and cabinet ministers.

In Teso, Ismael Orot the former LC 5 Chairperson of Kumi and now the first elected MP for the new Kanyumu County was appointed State Minister for Works.

This was a fulfilment of the presidential pledge during his recent campaigns where he promised to give him that very position.

Musa Ecweru retained his seat as the State Minister for Disaster, Preparedness and Refugees for the third time while Agnes Akiror who was the State Minister for Tourism scooped the position of the Teso Affairs State Minister replacing Christine Hellen Amongin Aporu.

JeJe Odongo was appointed Minister of Internal Affairs replacing Rose Akol Okullu the former Bukedea woman MP.

Osuban said he hopes to work with the ministers appointed in the region so as to bring development to Teso and the country as a whole.

Benson Ekwee the executive director Public Affairs Centre Uganda, an organization based in Teso said the people in the region had expected Ecweru to have hooked the same ministerial position.

Before the new appointment, Teso had two cabinet ministers; Jessica Alupo (education, sports and technology) and Okullo who was appointed towards the recent general elections to replace the late Gen. Aronda Nyakairima.
