The Jobless Brotherhood members are facing three charges among them criminal trespass

There was drama at City Hall Court as members of the Jobless Brotherhood stormed out of court protesting the manner in which their case was being handled.

This protest followed Grade One Magistrate Moses Mushebebwa told them that the magistrate hearing their case Beatrice Khaiza was indisposed, saying the hearing will kick off on Tuesday.

This annoyed the accused; Norman Tumuhimbise and Robert Mayanja who stormed out of court voicing their displeasure over the postponements.

"Whenever we come here, we are told she is on retreat, official duty and now she is indisposed. I don't even know what that means, but I guess our lawyer knows this court language," Mayanja furiously explained.

Tumuhimbise said they are unemployed youth who need to look for jobs, saying it was not fair for court to toss them around.

"We are jobless youth and if we keep on using our little transport and the case continues to be postponed, then it is unfair. I guess even some bosses who asked for our CVs tomorrow will need to wait because we have to come back tomorrow. This might affect our chances," he noted.

Their lawyer, Isaac Ssemakadde said he was supposed to cross examine one of the remaining three state witnesses but could not due to the absence of the magistrate.

The witnesses include Alice Charity (parliament researcher), Paul Kwir (scene of crime officer) and Benjamin Arishaba, a police constable.

"I do not know the reason as to why the magistrate is absent, but I am ready to examine the remaining witnesses tomorrow," he said.

The Jobless Brotherhood are facing three charges of interfering with parliamentary proceedings which is contrary with section 17 (a) of parliament power privilege, criminal trespass and conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor.
