Court orders Besigye transfer to Luzira

Moroto Chief Magistrate Charles Yeteise has ordered the detained FDC politician Kizza Besigye to be transferred from Moroto government prison to Luzira prisons.
Besigye was remanded last Friday over treason charges after he declared himself president -elect of Uganda and organized a swearing-in function.
The Resident State Attorney Gerald Amoro presented the application of transfer to magistrate Yeteise, saying that they have intelligence information that some dissidents planned an attack on Moroto government prison where his being held to take him away.
Amoro also said that the offences preferred against Besigye were committed between Kampala and Wakiso and more accused persons will be joined on his file in Kampala.
Prison's publicist Frank Baine said Besigye had been airlifted from Moroto and they expected him in Luzira by the end of Monday.
