Ugandan women invited to Roma 7s

According to Helen Buteme, the Uganda women ugby governing body (UWRA) secretary, the invitation is a good opportunity for Uganda to get exposure

Uganda women 7s team, (the Lady Rugby Cranes 7s team) has been invited to the Roma 7s in Italy on June 10-11.

According to Helen Buteme, the Uganda women ugby governing body (UWRA) secretary, the invitation is a good opportunity for Uganda to get exposure as she builds a team for future Olympics and Commonwealth qualifiers.

"We were invited to Roma 7s and I think it is a great opportunity for our team to get exposure since we are to play world class teams," Buteme said.

"Our focus is to raise the money to see that we honour the invitation," Buteme added.

She added that they have already invited 16 players for training on Monday at Legends Rugby ground.

They include, Grace Auma, Emmanuella Oroma, Gilder Inzikuru, Peace Wokorach (Walukuba Titans),Samiya Ayikoru,Phionah Nalubwama, Aisha Nakityo,Irene Nzige, Harriet Kayonjo (Thunderbirds),Charlotte Mudoola, Brenda Kayiyi and  Claire Anena (Black Panthers).

Others are Hildah Nyiraguhirwa and Peace Mirembe from Entebbe Sharks.
