 Over 15 people have been killed by landslides caused by heavy rains in Bundibugyo district.

The most affected areas are the sub counties of Bubukwanga, Bukhonzo, Humya, and Bumadu village in Bundibugyo town council.

Bundibugyo RDC, Godfrey Mucunguzi, noted that the damage is so severe.

Jolly Tinbemanya, the Bundibugyo district chairperson said that several infrastructures including bridges, roads, water system have been destroyed.

Irene Nakasiita, the Uganda Red Cross spokesperson noted that their team is on ground rescuing those they can and retrieving the bodies.
