Liege are top of the league after four matches with 7 points

Inspired by Farouk Miya's first half goal, Belgium giants Standard Liege managed to successfully dispatch Mouscron-Peruwelz in the Belgium Pro League last Friday.

The Cranes midfielder struck on 31 minutes to haul Liege level after Filip Markovic's had handed the visitors the lead on six minutes.

Giannis Maniatis made it two 20 minutes later. Gabriel Boschilia grabbed a third for the home team before Ghanaian Benjamin Tetteh rounded up victory with a sleek finish 13 minutes from time.

Aside from helping Liege to a timely equalizer that ultimately contributed to the routing win, Miya also made his first starting line-up appearance for Standard Liege since his $400,000 transfer from Ugandan club Vipers in January.

Miya came off after an hour and was replaced by Cameroonian star Enoh Eyong.

In March, Miya lifted his first trophy with Standard Liege -the Belgium Cup -despite being an unused substitute in the 2-1 win over Club Brugge in the final.

Liege are top of the league after four matches with 7 points, two behind Kortrijk who have a game in hand in the league's Play-off II category.
