Zake Luboyera scores twice to help Uganda progress to the next stage.

U-20 AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS QUALIFIERS

RETURN LEG: Uganda 2 Rwanda 1 (agg 3-2)

Uganda's under-20 side dumped their Rwandan counterparts out of the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Saturday.

Coming into this second leg, Uganda needed either a win or a goalless draw to qualify, and the home faithful froze when they fell behind.

Abeddy Biramahire nodded the visitors into the lead 19 minutes into the opening half but any resultant home nerves were swiftly cleared when Zake Luboyera restored parity hardly two minutes later.

The hosts were awarded a penalty after the interval and Luboyera was offered the task. He obliged, stepped forward in front of the Rwandan goal keeper Nzeyurwanda Jimmy Jiha and executed coolly to give Uganda the lead.

It was never a convincing display for the Hippos inside a sparse Namboole Stadium but they managed to hold on.

Uganda will next meet Egypt next month and the winner over two legs will move on to the finals of the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations due in Zambia next February.

The Rwandans scored the first goal through Abeddy Biramahire . . .

 . . . much to their fans delight . . .
