Heathens rest their title hopes on Buffaloes

Toyota Buffaloes go into Saturday's Nile Special Premier Rugby League game against BetWay Kobs at 2:30pm at Kyadondo Rugby Club not only to avenge the 27-14 first round defeat, but also to redeem Heathens' title hopes.

Heathens who lost 17-12 to Sadolin Mongers pray that they win their game against Rhinos with a bonus point and Kobs lose to Buffaloes without getting a bonus point so that the two face-off in the final game next Saturday to decide the league winner.

In rugby, a team gets a point when it loses a game below seven-point margin and also when it wins a game by scoring more than four tries.

A win by Kobs will hand them the Nile Special Premier Rugby League title with a game in hand.

Buffaloes' coach Edgar Lamerigar said that his boys are going for a win.

"We had a good physical training and the players' mood is high, which gives me confidence that victory is ours."

"We are in a bad position and we are going in this game to redeem ourselves," added Lamerigar.

However, Kobs team captain Brian Odongo said that they have sharpened their backline and are expecting a win.

Heathens host Ezee Money Rhinos in a game they wish to win with a bonus point at Kyadondo while Pirates visit Rams at Makerere Graveyard Ground determined to cement their third position and Warriors host Mongers at Legends rugby club.

Impis will rest after Gulu was disqualified from the league following their failure to honour four consecutive games.
