A balcony is the best place where one needs to let their imagination play.

It is a place which adds value to your property; residence or rentals, only if designed right -enriching it with lighting, color furniture, wall hanging , fabric and clearing all unnecessary items , makeing it fresh and relaxing.

One should create a small but memorable garden and interior research to make it unique but its uniqueness depends entirely on your interests, preferences, choice of furniture, plants and flower pots says Citie Waswa the director of Citie homes interiors Ltd.

Choosing colours

Citie Waswa says that colours can be bright, natural, earth and brick red . The colours you choose must make the balcony pleasant to sit in.

If the balcony is connected to the interior the colors should match with those in the living room or the master's bedroom to make it look nice and if it not connected to the interior you can choose different colors.

Planting on Balcony

Joy Katende of Joy Interiors says that choosing plant species should be guided by the size of balcony because some plants over grow hence making the balcony over crowded

She however says that plants' growth in the balcony depends in which direction they are facing.

"If your balcony is located to the east where the sun sets plants grow better and faster because they don't get excessive sunlight during the hot season which can burn them.

On balconies, which are located on the northern side, are favorite for plants which do not require much light and balconies in the south build on resistant plant species to drought.

Taking care of your plants on the balcony by watering them regularly keeps them fresh and flourishing.

Umbrellas and awnings are a great solution if your balcony is located to the south.

Furniture on the balcony

She says that organization of your balcony unit is suitably understated with minimal furniture.

"Choose the furniture that has wrought , metal or wood elements which must be simple and movable.

The furniture put in this balcony must be durable, resistant to rust and to all types of weather.

It can also be in form of aluminum in form of wrickets but expensive

If your home is decorated in a classic style, it is better to choose wooden furniture it all depends on how you have arranged it,' adds Katende
